Some of the most famous
attractions in Sri Lanka:
Beaches
Warm, tropical Sri Lanka is an island
with over a thousand miles of beautiful, pale gold beaches, fringed
with coconut palms and surrounded by blue water. There are lovely
bays, coral reef inhabited by colourful fish… and the sun shines its
blessing over all.
West and South Coast beaches.
Sri Lanka’s convenient seasons make it
possible for half of our islands coast to receive sun at any given
time of year. You will also be sure of receiving a warm welcome! The
climate is pleasant with average temperature around 27 Celsius. High
season for the beaches of the south and west (with our capital city,
Colombo, between them) is November to April, the northern winter
when we have beautiful weather and perfect conditions for water
sports.
Ancient Cities
Five centuries before
Christ, Sri Lanka was a land throbbing with vitality and a
well-ordered civilization. I n place like Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa,
Dambulla and Sigiriya cities, palaces, reservoirs and parks,
temples, monasteries, monuments and works of art bore testament to
the character, imagination, culture, philosophy and faith of the
people of Sri Lanka, the Resplendent Land. Vestiges of this ancient
civilization are abundantly extant today and maybe reached from
Colombo in a comfortable morning’s drive through verdant
countryside, flourishing green paddy fields, acres of coconut palms
and alongside deep jungle in which elephant and leopard roam.
National Park/Sanctuary
Sri Lanka is a paradise for animal
lovers who enjoy animal or bird watching. There are many national
parks and sanctuaries in Sri Lanka that offer you an opportunity to
observe a real wildlife once in your lifetime. The animals that roam
the national parks and sanctuaries are variety. Example of animals

elephants, leopards, sloth bears, deer and monkeys, wild buffalos,
wild boars (pig), porcupines, ant-eaters, civet cats, jackals,
mongooses, Loris (unique to Sri Lanka), several varieties of
